AMRITSAR SAHIB—On May 16, the former Chief Khalsa Diwan president Charanjit Chadha was given clean chit by the Special Investigation Team headed by IG (crime) LK Yadav in accusations leveled against him by the woman principal Ravinder Kaur. Notably, the woman principal of a CKD run school had accused Charanjit Chadha of sexual harassment and his deceased son Inderpreet Singh Chadha of criminal intimidation on December 29 last year.
IG (crime) LK Yadav filed a report before the Amritsar Police Commissioner on May 16 recommending cancellation of the FIR against Charanjit Chadha and his deceased son Inderpreet Singh Chadha.
It may be recalled here that a sleazy video of Charanjit Chadha with the woman principal of a CKD run school had gone viral over social media in December last year. On the complaint of woman principal, the Amritsar police had registered an FIR under sections 354 (using assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354-A (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and sections 67 and 67-A of the Information Technology Act against Charanjit Chadha and his deceased son Inderpreet Singh Chadha.
Later, Inderpreet Singh Chadha had committed suicide in January this year with his licensed pistol on being harassed by the Amritsar police.
