SIRMAUR, Himachal Pradesh—On the demand of Sikhs living in village Narag of Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh, the SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal has announced to construct a Gurdwara Sahib in village Narag so that the Sikhs living there could get attached to Sikhism.
While making this announcement during a Gurmat Samagam held in village Narag on May 13, Longowal said that the SGPC is continuously active to promote Sikhism in India. He added that the SGPC has erected Dharam Prachar Kendar (Religious Preachment Center) named “Sikh Mission” in all over India and one of them is active in Himachal Pradesh for the preachment of Sikhism. “The SGPC is committed to increase the count of religious preachers, Dhadis (Balladeers) and Kavishars in Himachal Pradesh to robust religious preachment” he said.
An Amrit Sanchaar program was also held on this occasion in which several villagers became baptized. S. Gobind Singh Longowal was also honored by the villagers on this occasion and was extended a vote of thanks for announcing construction of Gurdwara Sahib in their village.
