SGPC President condoles demise of Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Expressing heartfelt condolences to the aggrieved family of political Sikh prisoner Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu, the SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal has said that may the almighty lord offer him shelter in his feet. Notably, Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu had passed away on April 18 due to heart attack in Patiala jail. Although the Patiala jail authorities had rushed him to Rajindra Hospital but he was declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors there.

Speaking with Sikh24, the SGPC president Longowal has favoured the need of a through probe into this unfortunate demise of Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu. Longowal reiterated the need for State Government to release political Sikh prisoners.

It is pertinent to note here that the worldwide Sikh bodies smell a highly deliberated conspiracy of Indian agencies in this incident. It is being said that the Patiala jail superintendent willingly kept Bhai Mintu deprived of getting examined from PGI despite repeated recommendations by the Jail doctor.
