Asifa Gang-rape & Murder: Massive Protest March seeking death penalty for culprits taken out in Amritsar

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Activists of Amritsar based Sikh organizations today took out a protest march in the holy city seeking justice for eight years old gang-rape victim Asifa’s family. The march was carried out in collaboration with activists of local Muslim Welfare Committee and Ravidasia community.

Commencing from Bhandari Bridge of Amritsar Sahib, the march concluded at Gurdwara Santokhsar Sahib where the protesters offered prayers for spiritual peace of victim.

Questioning about inordinate delay in deliverance of justice to the victim, the protesters loudly shouted anti-government slogans outside the Hall gate.

The protesters also took on the Parliamentarian Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who claims herself as promoter of campaign against female infanticide and equal rights for women, for not uttering even a word about this heinous crime incident.

The Sikh protesters said that the saffron BJP government of India and fanatic Hindus were trying to save the perpetrators of this heinous crime. They added that the Sikh community stands in support of victim family and will continue struggle till the culprits are not brought to justice.
