1984 Sikh genocide: Delhi High Court directs CBI to speed up probe about Jagdish Tytler’s role

NEW DELHI—The Delhi High Court on April 16 directed the probing agency CBI to speed up investigation about Jagdish Tytler’s role in 1984 Sikh genocide and submit a status report in this concern till May 21.

The move came in response to CBI’s submission to the Court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Arora in which it has said that it requires one month more to conduct Lie Detection Test of arms dealer Abhishek Verma.

Severe delays have been noticed in the case on behest of the CBI, which had earlier given a clean chit to Tytler. The case however gained worldwide attention when a video of Jagdish Tytler’s self-confessions about his role in the 1984 Sikh massacres went public.
