Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara produced before the Patiala Court

PATIALA, Punjab—In a case pertaining to murder of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat (RSS) state chief Rulda “Singh”, political Sikh prisoners Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara and Bhai Ramandeep Singh Goldy were produced before the Session Court of Patiala on April 13. Extremely tight security arrangements were observed on this occasion by the Chandigarh and Punjab police.

Appearing before the Court of Additional Session Judge Mohammad Gulzar, the Punjab police’s lawyer urged the Court to grant relaxation to duo accused (Bhai Tara & Bhai Goldy) from personally appearing before the Court. He asked the Court to pursue Court hearings via video conference.

Similarly, the Chandigarh police also submitted a written request to Court to detain Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara in jail of Punjab.

Following this, the court handed over copies of written requests by the Punjab police and Chandigarh police to the defense lawyer Advocate Barjinder Singh Sodhi. The court has directed the defense lawyer to submit his reply by May 3.
