BREAKING: Supreme Court Okays Release of Movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’

NEW DELHIā€”As per fresh updates, the Supreme Court of India has okayed the release of controversial movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ which is scheduled to be released on April 13. Directing the state governments to maintain law & order, the Supreme Court has said that the Jathedar of supreme Sikh throne Sri Akal Takht Sahib did not have any right to ban the movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ in India.

However, it remains unclear that whether the Supreme Court has addressed this verdict in response to petition seeking ban on ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ or the producer Harinder Sikka had approached Supreme Court seeking clearance for movie’s release scheduled for April 13.

Reacting to Supreme Court’s verdict, Sikh intellectual S. Baljit Singh Khalsa has said that the Indian Supreme Court has once again reminded his value to the Akal Takht Jathedar appointed as per legal setup erected under Indian patronage. He added that what could be worse than it that the Supreme Court is depriving Sikh high priest from deciding whether a movie related to the Sikh religion is worth watching or not.

With clearance of Supreme Court, the release of movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ is likely to draw sharp opposition from Sikh masses especially in Punjab. The situation may turn wild on April 13 as the staunch believers of Sikhism are ready cross any line to prevent ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ from hitting screens in India.

  1. Did anyone expected anything different ? The Indian govt has been attacking Sikhs from day one, Circular issued by the Indian govt in 1947-48 to all the commissioners stating Sikhs moving from Pakistan should be considered criminals and should be watched closely, after 1984 genocide instructions to army stating all amritdhari sikhs are dangerous and should be dealt accordingly, Govt supports all organisations who attack Sikhism, like ram rahim, nirankaries and what not. Now these jathedars expected to ban a movie which has been rewarded by this Govt. Only hope is we should clean our house. We can start by following the Order of Guru Gobind Singh ji that we have only one Guru ie Guru Granth Sahib ji and follow it.
