AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—The Sarbat Khalsa appointed Takht Jathedars underwent an emergency meeting on April 8 to deliberate upon issue of controversial movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’. Notably, the controversial movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ is scheduled to be released on April 13 which is likely to draw sharp reaction of Sikh masses.
In the meeting, the Takht Jathedars resolved to impose full ban on the controversial movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ as depiction of historical Sikh characters in human form was against Sikh tenets.
The Takht Jathedars have said that Harinder Sikka is playing in hands of anti-Sikh powers so he needs to be sued in the court. They have also directed the Sikh masses to make sincere efforts to prevent the release of this movie on April 13.
The Takht Jathedars have also directed the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee to constitute a ‘Sikh Censor Board’ of Sikh intellectuals so that any movie related to Sikhism should first get authenticity from this board.
