Bihar CM lays foundation stone of Takht Sri Patna Sahib’s Diwan Hall

PATNA, Bihar, India—Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr. Nitish Kumar on April 8 laid the foundation stone of Diwan Hall to be built on the south side of Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib. Notably, Nitish Kumar had made special arrangements for making the 350th birthday celebrations of tenth Sikh master Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji memorable in 2016 which were appreciated by the Sikh community.

Sharing the development with Sikh24, the General Secretary of Takht Sri Patna Sahib’s Management Committee S. Sarjinder Singh informed that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar paid obeisance at Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib before laying the foundation stone of Diwan Hall. He further informed that the sewa of this Diwan Hall has been assigned to Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha headed by Bhai Mohinder Singh.

S. Sarjinder Singh added that the Diwan Hall has been named as ‘Sals Rai Jauhri Diwan Hall’ and residential rooms in this building will also be installed along with a parking in the basement.

Interacting with media on this eve, the Union state minister S.S. Ahluwalia said that the Union government was making plan to release coin of Rupees 350 commemorated to 350th birthday celebrations within Sikh shrine. He added that all the preparations in this concern have been completed and Indian PM Narendra Modi will be approached soon to launch this coin.
