Surjit Singh Kalabula’s Mortal Remains Cremated at Native Village

KALABULA, Sangrur, Punjab—Mortal remains of SGPC member S. Surjit Singh Kalabula, who had passed away on February 27, were consigned to flames at his native village Kalabula on March 1 amid presence of prominent Sikh personalities, including  Sarbat Khalsa 2015 appointed Akal Takht’s Interim Jathedar Bhai Dhian Singh Mand, SAD (Amritsar) president S. Simranjit Singh Mann.

Surjit Singh Kalabula had fell victim of heart failure few days prior to his death and was under treatment at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital of Ludhiana.

SAD (Amritsar) affiliated Surjit Singh Kalabula had won SGPC election from Dhuri constituency in 2011. He was included in the 15 member executive committee elected in SGPC general house meeting held on November 5, 2016.

None of the SGPC members attended his funeral despite issuance of condoling statements by the SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal, and Dr. Roop Singh.
