Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu sent on four days Police remand

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Politcal Sikh prisoner Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu was today presented before the Amritsar based Court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Magistrate Ravinder Kaur in a case pertaining to recovery of ammunition. An FIR in this concern was registered by the state’s operation cell on May 30, 2010.

It is pertinent to note here that Sikh activist Baba Bakhshish Singh was addressed four years sentence while three others were acquitted in this case by the court.

Sikh activist Bhai Papalpreet Singh, who was present during today’s Court hearing, told Sikh24 that the police succeeded in securing Bhai Mintu’s four days remand and now he will be reproduced before the Court March 4. Bhai Mintu was brought here on production warrants from the central jail of Patiala.

Bhai Papalpreet Singh further informed that the defense counsel Advocate Navjit Singh had requested the Court in 2016 to try Bhai Mintu along with other cases but the police had told the Court that Bhai Mintu was proclaimed offender however he was being detained in Nabha jail at that time.
