BREAKING: SGPC member Surjit Singh Kalabula passes away

LUDHIANA, Punjab—SGPC member S. Surjit Singh Kalabula today passed away at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital of Ludhiana following a brief illness at around 6 pm. 56 years old Surjit Singh Kalabula had fell victim of heart attack few days back and was admitted to the DMCH.

SAD (Amritsar) affiliated Surjit Singh Kalabula had won SGPC election from Dhuri constituency in 2011. He was included in the 15 member executive committee elected in SGPC general house meeting held on November 5, 2016.

S. Kalabula was serving as a General Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) headed by S. Simranjit Singh Mann.

It is pertinent to note here that on February 23, Kalabula’s brother Balwinder Singh had passed away. Balwinder Singh was an Inspector rank cop in Punjab police.

Expressing grief over untimed demise of Surjit Singh Kalabula, Amritsar based Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar’s youth wing leader S. Navdeep Singh has said that the Sikh community has suffered of a severe loss.   

Sikh activist S. Papalpreet Singh has said that S. Surjit Singh Kalabula was a noble person who always stood for the pride of Sikh nation even in extreme adverse circumstances.
