Charanjit Chadha Resigns from Chief Khalsa Diwan’s Presidency; To Appear at Akal Takht Sahib Tomorrow

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—On January 22, former Chief Khalsa Diwan’s President Charanjit Chadha officially submitted his resignation from the post of CKD presidency. Earlier, the SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh had directed Charanjit Chadha to submit his resignation before appearing at the Supreme Sikh throne Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Sikh24 has learnt that Charanjit Chadha has been scheduled to appear before the SGPC appointed Takht Jathedars on January 23.

It may be recalled here that a video depicting Charanjit Chadha in an intimate position with a Principal of CKD run School had gone viral over social media on December 26 last year. Although Charanjit Chadha had claimed that it was a conspiracy of his rivals to defame him but lodging of police complaint by the victim school principal had torpedoed his claims. Arrest warrants were issued against Charanjit Chadha following this complaint.

Amid this episode, Charanjit Chadha’s son Inderpreet Chadha had committed suicide. In his suicide note, he had accused the police of acting in biased manner against his family and harassing him.

Stories about welfare tasks being done by Inderpreet Chadha at PGIMER, Chandigarh were published by the mainstream media outlets of Punjab.
