BREAKING: High Court Asks Rajasthan Government to Consider Bhai Lahoriya’s Permanent Parole

JAIPUR, Rajasthan—Rajasthan High Court bench headed by its Chief Justice Pardeep Nandrajog and Justice G.R. Moolchandani has directed the Rajasthan State government to consider political Sikh prisoner Bhai Daya Singh Lahoriya for permanent parole. Rajasthan High Court has made this direction while processing a petition seekingBhai Daya Singh Lahoriya’s permanent release.

Sikh24 has learnt that the Rajasthan state government’s Additional Advocate General B. N. Sandu opposed the demand of petitioner by saying that Bhai Daya Singh Lahoriya was brought back from USA and was sentenced for life in a serious crime so he couldn’t be released before completion of 20 years of his sentence.

At this, the defense counsels informed the Court that Bhai Lahoriya has already completed 20 years of sentence but still the state government of Rajasthan was not considering him for permanent release.

The Rajasthan High Court bench disposed off the petition by directing Rajasthan state government to consider Bhai Daya Singh Lahoria’s name for permanent parole during next meeting of the Committee working in this concern. “Proper reason for rejection should be mentioned if the committee decides to reject the plea and if the committee decides to release Bhai Lahoriya on permanent parole then that would be the end of the matter,” the Court said.

Political Sikh prisoner Bhai Daya Singh Lahoria is currently being languished at Tihar Jail in New Delhi. He was addressed life sentence in a case pertaining to kidnapping of the Congress leader Ramnivas Mridha’s son Rajinder Mridha.
