AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—An eight years old case pertaining to recovery of ammunition has been opened against political Sikh prisoner Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu. Notably, an FIR in this concern was registered by the state’s operation cell on May 30, 2010. Another political prisoners, Baba Bakhshish Singh was also addressed four years sentence in this case while three others nominated by the police were acquitted by the Court.
Trial against Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu will be commenced in this case in the Court of Additional District Session Judge Sarabjit Singh Dhaliwal on January 24.
Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu had urged the Court to acquit him in this case via his legal counsel but the Court has rejected his plea.
