Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu ends hunger strike in Patiala jail

PATIALA, Punjab—Sikh24 has learned that political Sikh prisoner Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu has reportedly ended hunger strike on January 7 in protest of biased behavior being depicted by Patiala jail authorities towards him. Notably, Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu had started hunger strike against biased behavior of Patiala jail authorities by keeping him deprived of medical ailment and sunlight.

As per unconfirmed reports, Patiala Jail Superintendent Rajan Kapoor that the demands of Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu have been accepted. Sikh24 will provide an update as soon as official details can be located.

It is pertinent to note here that Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu was being kept in a dark cell in this extremely cold weather by the Patiala jail authorities from the last two months. Despite of being apprised of the fact that Bhai Mintu is heart patient, the Patiala jail authorities had denied him taking to PGIMER, Chandigarh for medical checkup and treatment.
