DERA BABA NANAK, Punjab—Shaheed Bhai Beant Singh, Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh, Shaheed Bhai Kehar Singh (assassinators of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi) and Bibi Surinder Kaur were remembered in a commemoratory program held at Gurdwara Yaadgaar-E-Shaheedan of village Agwan (Gurdaspur) on January 6.
Following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Bhai Balbir Singh Damdami Taksal, Bhai Jaswinder Singh, Giani Navtej Singh Damdami Taksal, Bhai Harjinder Singh Manochahal, Bhai Harjit Singh, Bibi Amandeep Kaur Majithe Wale, Bhai Bahuloveleen Singh and Dhadi Surjit Singh Paras delighted the Sikh masses with religious discourse.
SGPC appointed Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh honored the family members of martyrs on this occasion.
Former Akali Cabinet Minister Virsa Singh Valtoha read the written message sent by SAD president Sukhbir Badal on this occasion and encouraged Bhai Sarwan Singh Agwan (brother of Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh) to carry on efforts for Panthik services.
Head Granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib Singh Sahib Giani Sukhjinder Singh, Former Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode, DSGMC’s representative S. Paramjit Singh Rana, MLA Lakhbir Singh Lodhi Nangal, Former MLA Veer Singh Lopoke, SGPC member Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka etc. were prominent among the present attendees of this martyrdom anniversary.
