Charanjit Chadha & Son Dismissed from Chief Khalsa Diwan’s Membership

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Eighty two years old former President of Chief Khalsa Diwan Charanjit Chadha, whose intimate video had gone viral over social media on December 26, has been dismissed from the basic membership of Chief Khalsa Diwan. His son Inderpreet Singh Chadha, who was Vice President of Chief Khalsa Diwan, was also terminated from the basic membership of CKD today.

It may be recalled here that following the removal from Charanjit Chadha from Presidency of Chief Khalsa Diwan, the newly appointed acting President Dhanraj Singh had said on December 27 that the allegations against Charanjit Chadha will be probed thoroughly and a meeting of CKD members will be called upon to take further action against Chadha.

Charanjit Chadha has refuted the allegations by saying that the video was not of him and he was being targeted intentionally by his rivals. As the video was not clear so some people also started trusting Chadha’s claim but the situation turned fatal for Chadha when the Principal of a CKD run school lodged Police complaint against him for physically abusing her.

Chief Khalsa Diwan is a central organization of various Singh Sabhas spread all over Punjab with the mission to promote the aspirations and redress grievances of the Sikh public, settle their religious differences and channelize Sikh public opinion. Its primary aim is to promote the spiritual, intellectual, moral, social, educational and economic welfare of the Sikhs as well as to safe-guard the political rights by making the Government aware of the problems, needs and grievances of the Sikh community.
