Charanjit Chadha goes underground to evade Police Investigation

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Following the filing of an FIR No. 144 against him in the police station of Islamabad (Amritsar Sahib) under sections 354, 354A, 506, 509 of Indian Penal Code and 67, 67-A of Information Technology Act, former Chief Khalsa Diwan principal Charanjit Chadha has allegedly gone underground to evade police investigations.

Police Commissioner of Amritsar Sahib S.S. Srivastava had constituted a Special Investigation Team under leadership of ADCP (Crime) Harjit Singh Dhaliwal, however, since the filing to the FIR, Chadha has been untraceable and his phone is switched off.

Statement of victim woman Principal of CKD run school was recorded by the Police on December 30 in which she reiterated allegations against former CKD President Charanjit Chadha.

Meanwhile, it has come to fore that Charnjit Chadha has gone underground to evade Police investigation against him. It is being speculated that he has left India but some people are also claiming that he is in Nanded (Maharashtra).   

Charanjit Chadha’s son Inderpreet Singh Chadha, who is also accused of threatening the victim woman Principal of serious consequences, has been given interim bail for four days by the Court. Sources have informed that he has been given bail on the condition of joining the Police investigation against Charanjit Chadha.

The Police have been asked to present its record in this case on January 8, 2018.
