KHANNA, Punjab—UK based Taljit Singh alias Jimmy was produced before the Court of Khanna’s duty magistrate Radhika Puri on December 10 by the Khanna police in a case pertaining to murder of two Sirsa cult disciples. On the request of Khanna police, Jimmy’s police remand was extended for two days by the Court.

It may be recalled here that two Sirsa cult disciples namely Satpal Sharma and his son Ramesh Sharma were shot dead on February 25 this year at village Jageda near Ahmedgarh (on Ludhiana-Malerkotla highway) by two masked assailants.

Initially at the time of incident occurrence, the Khanna Police had termed it as a case of personal rivalry but now the arrested Sikh youths are being accused for the murder. At the time of incident, the SHO of Malaudh Police Station had said that it may be a case of personal rivalry because the killers targeted only Satpal and his son, and did not hurt the other cult followers at the spot.

UK resident Taljit Singh alias Jimmy, who is a native of Jammu, was arrested on October 31 on his arrival to India at New Delhi. Later, three other Sikh youths namely UK citizen Jagtar Singh Johal alias Jaggi, Ramandeep Singh and Hardeep Singh Shera were arrested last month also in connection with serial murders in Punjab following Jimmy’s arrest.
