Additional Four Day Police Remand for Ramandeep Singh and Hardeep Singh Shera

KHANNA, Punjab—Alleged sharp shooters Ramandeep Singh and Hardeep Singh Shera were produced before the  Court of Khanna’s duty magistrate Radhika Puri on December 7 by the Khanna police. The Khanna police succeeded in getting four days remand of the duo accused in an FIR No. 119/16 registered at the City Police Station of Khanna in relation to murder of Shiv Sena leader Durga Prasad on April 24, 2016.

Earlier, the Mohali based NIA Court had sent Ramandeep Singh and Hardeep Singh Shera in judicial custody on December 6 in an FIR No. RC-18/2017/NIA/DLI pertaining to murder case of RSS leader Ravinder Gosain. On December 6, the Khanna police secured their custody on transit remand.

On April 24, 2016, two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants gunned down Punjab Shiv Sena’s labour wing chief Durga Prasad at Lalehi Chowk in Khanna.  Twenty eight years old Durga Prasad, who was inside his office along with his gunman and party workers, got a call on his mobile phone following which he left his office on his motorcycle, saying that he will be back soon. He didn’t take his security guard along. As he reached Lalhedi Chowk, Durga Prasad was intercepted by two assailants, who had their faces covered with a piece of cloth who shot at him.
