Delhi High Court directs Tihar Jail Authorities to facilitate proper ailment to Jathedar Hawara

NEW DELHI—A Delhi High Court bench headed by Justice Najmi Waziri on December 6 directed the Tihar Jail authorities to facilitate proper ailment to the political Sikh prisoner Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara. Notably, Jathedar Hawara has been suffering of severe back pain but the Tihar jail authorities were denying ailment to him from long time.  Sikh Relief (UK) had lodged a petition in the Delhi High Court in this concern.

Sharing the development with Sikh24, Sikh Relief’s volunteer Parminder Singh Amloh informed that the Delhi High Court has directed the Tihar Jail authorities to regularly conduct medical checkup of Jathedar Hawara and arrange a physiotherapist for his massage. “Beside it, the Delhi High Court has also directed the Tihar Jail authorities to arrange a wheelchair and English style toilet seat for Jathedar Hawara,” he added.

It may be recalled here that political Sikh prisoner Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara was appointed as the Akal Takht Jathedar by the Sikh congregation named ‘Sarbat Khalsa 2015’ held in village Chabba on November 10, 2015. Currently, he is being confined in the Tihar jail despite of conclusion in all the pending trial of Delhi based cases.

    note kario sikh 24 ji, ailment means illness/ bimari. Correct word should be medical treatment
