PATNA, Bihar, India—Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) suffered a major setback on November 21 when the Patna High Court once again handed over the control of Takht Sri Patna Sahib to Harvinder Singh Sarna led Management committee sidelining the former SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar.  Earlier, a session court of Patna had quashed the Sarna led management committee on November 7 while handing over the control to Avtar Singh Makkar.

Disposing off the verdict of Patna’s session court, the Patna High Court validated the election of Harvinder Singh Sarna led Takht Sri Patna Sahib Management Committee held on September 3 this year.

Welcoming the High Court’s verdict, Harvinder Singh Sarna said that the Court has delivered justice by reinstating his Management Committee. Claiming of a wave of happiness among common Sikh masses after High Court’s verdict, Sarna said that he will go to pay obeisance at Takht Sri Patna Sahib on November 22. He added that the birth anniversary of tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh Ji will be celebrated at Takht Sri Patna Sahib as per pre-scheduled program.

  1. How come the High Court [under the corrupt Government] has the power to appoint Jathedars? – We Sikhs only adhere to any Jathedar chosen by the Akal Takhat by 5 Gursikhs. Iqbal Singh should be thrown out by the sangat.

  2. Sikh sangat has been made mindless, thoughtless and actionless by Sikh religious institutions commanded by RSS. These bachitriyas can be ousted only when the Sikh masses have the time to think rationally and independently. Now let us see how Sarna group takes action against the polygamist Iqbal after Makkar’s oust by Patna high court recent verdict.

  3. It is the duty of every Sikh to follow the order of Guru Gobind Singh ji that we have only one Guru ie Guru Granth Sahib ji and nothing else. It is extremely important that we should start telling our parcharaks that they should only preach what is written in the “Guru Granth Sahib ji” and nothing else before it is too late and we loose everything.
