BREAKING: High Court Rejects Bhai Rajoana’s Release Petition

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Punjab & Haryana High Court bench headed by Justice R.K. Jain today rejected the petition moved by Bibi Kamaldeep Kaur seeking political Sikh prisoner Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana’s release. Notably, Bibi Kamaldeep Kaur is foster sister of death row convict Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana who is currently being confined in the Central Jail of Patiala for assassination the former Punjab Chief Minister Beant “Singh”.

It may be recalled here that on November 2, the Punjab & Haryana High Court bench headed by Justice R.K. Jain had reserved its verdict on Bibi Kamaldeep Kaur’s petition after recording the contentions of petitioner’s lawyer.

The Defense lawyer had contended before the Court that political Sikh prisoner Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana has already spent 21 years and 10 months in jail which was more than twice the tenure of a life imprisonment in India. Citing the mercy petition moved by the SGPC before President of India seeking commutation of Bhai Rajoana’s death sentence, the petitioner’s lawyer had contended that the delay in decision on mercy petition by the President of India was extending his imprisonment.

  1. It is stupid to expect if a Sikh can get justice in India. As long as Sikh organisations doesn’t free themselves from the RSS and other hinduavata forces Sikhs will be treated as slaves and nothing else.
