NEW DELHI, Punjab—Addressing a tributary program organized by the Panthak Sewa Dal to mark 33rd anniversary of Sikh genocide on November 2, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia said that the genocide of Sikhs committed by fanatic Hindu elements in November 1984 was a state sponsored act. He further said that it was dark blot on the Indian democracy that the victims of this genocide were still deprived of justice and the seven successive Union governments of India during last three decades have only exploited the victims.
Reiterating his party’s stance to facilitate justice to the victims of 1984 Sikh genocide, Manish Sisodia said that the Aam Aadmi Party was committed to bring the perpetrators of genocide to justice. He added that during first 49 days tenure of AAP in Delhi, a state level Special Investigation Team was constituted by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “However the BJP led Indian government appointed its own SIT to investigate the genocide cases as it was aware of the fact that the Kejriwal appointed SIT won’t spare any perpetrator,” he added.
Surinder Kochhar, who is member of Delhi’s Minority Commission, cited several barbaric and inhuman incidents of 1984 Sikh genocide. He said that expecting justice in Indian regime was like expecting milk from a bull for Sikhs as the Indian state had himself committed this inhuman carnage of innocent Sikhs.
Former AAP legislator Jarnail Singh said on this occasion that the victims of 1984 Sikh genocide won’t be delivered justice by Congress and BJP as the duo were equally involved in this barbaric act.
A documentary named “Udeek Insaaf Di” prepared by an NRI Manjinder Singh with the cooperation of Jarnail Singh was released in this program attended by large number genocide victim families. S. Harditt Singh acted as a stage secretary in this program.Sikh24 Editors can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
