Sikh Museum and Kirtan Academy To Be Established at Nankana Sahib

FATEHGARH SAHIB, Punjab—SGPC has announced to set up a Sikh museum at Sri Nankana Sahib (West Punjab, Pakistan) on 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.  SGPC executive committee also resolved to establish a Gurmat Sangeet Academy in remembrance of Bhai Mardana Ji.

A press note shared with Sikh24 on October 13 stated –

“The SGPC has begun preparations to celebrate 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on international level in 2019.  On the 548th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Sahib, the SGPC is going to hold a large level Kavi Darbar, Kirtan Darbar and Dhadi Darbar in Sultanpur Lodhi on November 4, 2017.”

Sikh24 was further told that along with the decision of establishing a Sikh Museum and Gurmat Sangeet Academy at Sri Nankana Sahib, SGPC will provide Gutkas of Nitnem Baanis, Sukhmani Sahib, Tablas, Harmoniums and other equipment to local Pakistani Sikhs.

“SGPC has also approved construction of a library on the name of Rai Bulaar Ji and his family will be invited on the eve of installing his portrait in the Central Sikh Museum situated in Sri Harmandir Sahib,” the press note stated.
