Prof. Badungar asks Punjab government to make Justice Zora Singh’s report public

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Speaking with Sikh24 earlier today, SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar said that it has asked the Punjab Government to make Justice Zora Singh report public.  Justice Zora Singh was the commission setup by the Punjab Government under the Akali Dal to investigate killings of Sikhs in Kotkapura in 2015.

“The Punjab government ought to make public the report about desecration episode and Behbal Klan tragedy submitted by Justice Zora Singh led Investigation Commission,” Prof. Badungar said.

Notably, the SGPC President Prof. Badungar is on face to face over the summons issued by Justice Ranjit Singh led Investigation Commission to appear before him. The Congress led Punjab government had handed over the investigation of statewide desecration incidents to Justice Ranjit Singh annulling the earlier report submitted by Justice Zora Singh led probing commission.

Challenging the constitution of Justice Ranjit Singh led Investigation Commission, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar said that the Punjab government had no logic in handing over the investigation of desecration episode and Behbal Klan tragedy to Justice Ranjit Singh. He added that every Justice submits an honest and unbiased report but by raising objections over Justice Zora Singh led Commission, the Punjab government has expressed suspicion over working of judiciary.

Expressing concern over still continuing incidents of desecration in Punjab, the SGPC President said that the Indian Intelligence needs to pay attention towards unearthing the powers indulged in committing sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
