Large Scale Programs Organized For Guru Ramdas Ji’s 483rd Parkash Divas

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—An Akhand Path Sahib in relation to 483rd birth anniversary of fourth Sikh master Sri Guru Ram Das Ji was laid at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall (situated with Sri Harmandir Sahib complex) on October 5. Sri Akhand Path Sahib was initiated by Bhai Gursewak Singh, and Bhai Harmittar Singh read sacred Hukamnama (order of the Almighty Lord) on this occasion.

Speaking with Sikh24 on October 6, SGPC Secretary Dr. Roop Singh informed that the Sikh devotees were depicting great enthusiasm for the 483rd birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ram Das Ji. He added that the SGPC was making tireless efforts to make the birth anniversary memorable and the SGPC employees have been directed to serve their duties with full devotion.   

Dr. Roop Singh further informed that the beautification of sanctum sanctorum has been also commenced with flowers. He added that the imported as well as countryside flowers of various species are being used to beautify the sanctum sanctorum.

A Gurmat Samagam was also commemorated at Gurnam Nagar of holy city Amritsar Sahib on October 5 by Baba Deep Singh Nishkam Sukhmani Sahib Sewa Society. Following the culmination of Sri Akhand Sahib, renowned Raagis, Dhadis, Kavishars, and Preachers addressed the religious discourse to present Sikh devotees. Chief Servant Bhai Gurcharan Singh acted as stage secretary on this occasion.

Addressing the Sikh devotees on this occasion, Raagi Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala lashed out at the self-styled intellectuals indulged in creating diversion among Sikhs by raising controversial issues via social media. He said that such elements who don’t adhere to Sikh code of conduct in their own lives now a days they are trying to teach Sikhism to others.  

He further said that the apex Sikh body SGPC and Shiromani Akali Dal had come to existence after a long episode of sacrifices but now a days the duo have come under control of a family which is acting as a puppet of RSS. He appealed the Sikh devotees to oust this family (Badal) from SGPC by voting against Badal affiliated candidates.

Bhai Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal, senior Vice President of Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala, shed light on the specialties and greatness of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Jathedar Baba Darshan Singh Nihang (Tahla Sahib Wale), Bhai Guriqbal Singh (Executive of Bibi Kaulan Ji Bhalai Kendra) & Ragi Bhai Amandeep Singh Ji, Hazoori Raagi Bhai Satnam Singh Koharka & Bhai Karnail Singh Khalsa, Bhai Davinder Singh (Hazoori Raagi, Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj), Patiala based Raagi Bhai Somandeep Singh, Bhai Gurinder Singh Madoke etc. were prominent among the Samagam attendees.

The Samagam was attended by hundreds of Sikh devotees and 35 Sikhs got baptized in this samagam.
