Court Beefs Up Security For Arms Dealer Accused In Sikh Genocide Of 1984

NEW DELHI, India—It has been revealed that arms dealer Abhishek Verma has been receiving threatening phone calls, which has led to him being allocated personal security. Notably, Abhishek Verma is scheduled to undergo a lie detection test next week at a Forensic Science Lab situated in Rohini, Delhi.

Upon hearing of the calls, the court has directed the DCP of the south district depute two more security personnel for Verma’s personal security, and that of his wife and mother, until October 10. Currently, the police had already been providing one security personnel, offering round-the-clock cover, in pursuance of a trial court order.

Despite the above level of offered protection, witnesses against the accused, Verma and Jagdish Tytler, have had their personal security removed.
