Young Sikh Honoured For His Turban Tying Skills

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—In an attempt inspire younger generations of Sikhs in the importance of the turban, a young resident of Patiala, Avtar Singh, was selected and honoured with a reward worth over 5000 rupees, by the SGPC.

Avtar Singh has been selected for displaying a unique skill of tying his turban without using a mirror in numerous of his competitions.

While handing over the cheque to Avtar Singh, the SGPC’s executive member Bhai Ram Singh said that children like Avtar Singh were icons for new generations and that Sikh families need to train their young in tying turbans.
