AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—In an attempt to create more awareness of the role of Punjabis, especially Sikhs, in the freedom of India from the British raj, the SGPC has announced a seminar on August 14 at Khalsa College, Patiala. The seminar has beenarranged in memory of Shaheed Bhai Maharaj Singh who had attained martyrdom in 1856.
SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar announced that Sikh intellectuals will share their research on the struggle of Sikhs in liberating the Indian sub-continent from the British. The timing of seminar has been scheduled for between 10:30 am to 01:00 pm on Monday 14 August.
The SGPC had also announced to publish an encyclopedia of Sikh freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives while battling for freedom from the British.
