Jathedar Sukhdev Singh, leader of the Babbar Khalsa, a leading Sikh freedom fighting organization, fought against illegal killings committed by the police and the Indian state military.
He was subsequently captured, tortured and killed point blank. The police, as was usual in Punjab, faked an armed encounter with Sukhdev Singh before announcing his death.
He was martyred on 9th August 1992.
Sikhs need more Jathedar Sukhdev Singh Babbar , these type of individuals are the heart and soul of Sikhism.
