AAP legislators move Sri Akal Takht Sahib seeking action against Captain Amarinder Singh

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—A delegation of AAP legislators headed by Advocate HS Phoolka on June 24 lodged a complaint before the SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh about the discourtesy depicted by ruling Congress government towards turbans. The AAP legislators sought strict action against the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Sikh cabinet ministers and legislators for hurting Sikh sentiments.

It may be recalled here that at the behest of Punjab assembly speaker Rana KP Singh on June 22, the assembly marshals forced out AAP legislators from the Punjab assembly. During commotion, turban of one of AAP legislator had come off and four others were injured.    

The delegation of Aam Aadmi Party legislators submitted memorandum to Giani Gurbachan Singh’s personal assistant S. Bhupinder Singh due to the absence of former.

Advocate HS Phoolka has informed in the memorandum that when the AAP legislators were thrown out and the turbans were mishandled, Captain Amarinder Singh was present in the Punjab assembly but he did nothing to stop the mis-happening.

MLA Manjit Singh Bilaspur, MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori, MLA Pirmal Singh Dhaula, MLA Jai Kishan Singh Rodi and MLA Amarjit Singh Sandhoan were accompanying HS Phoolka on this occasion. 

Meanwhile, reports of misbehaviour by SGPC’s task force with media reporters has come to fore.
