SGPC President seeks appointment with Chief Minister and Punjab Governor

AMRITSAR SAHIB—The President of apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has written a letter to the Chief Minister and Governor of Punjab seeking time for appointment.

Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has sought intervention of Punjab Governor Sri V.P. Singh Badnore in the dispute over SGPC owned land in village Bhai Roopa of Rampura Phool. It is noteworthy here that some Congress affiliated miscreants were trying to take possession of more than 100 acres land owned by the SGPC.

Besides it, the SGPC president is also expected to raise the issue of alterations made to the ‘Mahan Kosh’ of Punjabi language written by Bhai Kaan Singh Nabha and published by the Punjabi University (Patiala) with Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh and Governor of Punjab Sri V.P Singh Badnore.

In a separate letter written to the DGP Suresh Arora, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has objected over the failure of Punjab police from last 11 days in facilitating the SGPC to plough its land. He has said that the Police was acting under pressure of ruling party and the Punjab government will be responsible if any untoward incident occurred in future.
