Sunil Jakhar holds Akali government responsible for Liquor Ads on Heritage Walk’s LEDs

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—In a press note shared with Sikh24, the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee’s President Mr. Sunil Jakhar has held the former Shiromani Akali Dal led Punjab government for liquor advertisement on the LED’s of newly built heritage walk. He has accused the former Akali government of leaving shameful heritage of exploiting religious sentiments.

Explaining the details, the PPCC president Sunil Kumar Jakhar said that the former Shiromani Akali Dal led Punjab government had signed a contract of telecasting on these LEDs for 15 years in a hasty way. He added that the Shiromani Akali Dal didn’t care about controlling the subject of advertisements to be telecasted on these screens.

Taking on SAD’s patron Parkash Badal and president Sukhbir Badal, Jakhar said that they were directly responsible for hurting Sikh sentiments. He further said that the Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh was thoroughly checking the anomalies in last government’s working due to which he has ordered probe into the Bargari tragedy.

It may be recalled here that the Shiromani Akali Dal had held Congress government responsible for the display of liquor’s advertisements on the LEDs of heritage walk.  This past week, Sikh24 discussed the matter with SGPC President Prof. Badungar, who stated that he was deeply hurt by the advertisements on the LEDs.  Prof. Bagundar’s statement is available here.
