NEW YORK—Responding to India’s complaint to Canadian government regarding “perceived threats” to Capt Amarinder during April 22 Khalsa Parade in Canada, human rights group “Sikhs for Justice” (SFJ) termed it as a nefarious attempt to curb the freedom of expression of Sikh separatists living in Canada.
SFJ in press release stated that Canadian Sikhs have a constitutionally protected right to express any political opinion no matter how discomforting it may be for Indian Government, including propagating for Sikh homeland “Khalistan” and campaign for Referendum 2020 to liberate Indian occupied Punjab.
On April 22 during Khalsa Day parade in Surrey, BC, more than 200,000 Sikh participants followed the “Khalistan” float with the images of martyred Sikh leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and other notable Sikh separatists who laid down their lives resisting Indian government during 1990s.
Calling India’s complaint against SFJ to Global Affairs Canada as frivolous, attorney Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, legal advisor to SFJ stated that, “Separatism is not Terrorism and SFJ always works within the law”.
“Capt. Amarinder is a human rights violator as per international laws and we are waiting for him to be in Canada, America or European Union Countries so that we can hold Punjab Chief Minister accountable and prosecute him for crimes against humanity”, added attorney Pannun.
During April 2016 SFJ successfully blocked Capt. Amarinder from addressing public rallies in Canada by initiating a “private prosecution” seeking arrest warrant of the Chief Minister of Punjab for his culpability in the torture of Sikhs in Punjab during his 2002 tenure as Chief Minister.
Several Canadian Sikhs were abducted, tortured and extra-judicially killed by Indian security forces in Punjab during the counter insurgency operations in late 1990’s. SFJ alleged that Capt. Amarinder during 2002, being head of the Government of Punjab, started the practice of reinstating, promoting and protecting the police officials named repeatedly by victims and human rights groups as perpetrators of torture, disappearances, and extrajudicial executions in 1990’s.

इतिहास की गलत जानकारी वाले लोग कहते हैं की सिखों ने हिंदुओं की रक्षा की। खालसा पन्थ की स्थापना के समय मोहियाल बामन और हिन्दू खत्री आगे आये थे। हर हिन्दू ने अपने परिवार से एक बेटा दिया था। एक और जहां मराठे लड़ रहे थे वहीं दूसरी और राजपूतों और शाही ब्राह्मणों ने मुगलों की नाक में दम किया हुआ था। जब पहली खालसा फ़ौज बनी तब उसका नेतृत्व एक मोहियाल ब्राह्मण भाई प्राग दास जी के हाथ में था। उसके बाद उनके बेटे भाई मोहन दास ने कमान सम्भाली। सती दास, मति दास, दयाल दास जैसे वीर शहीद ब्राह्मण खालसा फ़ौज के सेनानायक थे। इन्होंने गुरु की रक्षा करते हुए अपनी जान दी। गुरु गोबिंद को शस्त्र की शिक्षा देने वाले पण्डित कृपा दत्त भी एक मोहियाल थे। उनसे बड़ा योद्धा कभी पंजाब के इतिहास में नही देखा गया। जब 40 मुक्ते मैदान छोड़ कर भागे तब एक पैंजनी सारस्वत ब्राह्मण लक्ष्मण दास उर्फ़ बन्दा बहादुर और उसका 14 साल का बेटा अजय भरद्वाज गुरु के परिवार की रक्षा को सरहिंद में लड़ा। चप्पड़ चिड़ी की लड़ाई में उसकी इतिहासिक विजय हुई। 1906 में खालसा पन्थ सिख धर्म बना। अकाली लहर चला कर उसे हिन्दू धर्म से कुछ लोगों ने अलग कर दिया। इतिहास से छेड़छाड़ हुई। जैसे 2010 के बाद से अचानक से पंडित बन्दा बहादुर बन्दा सिंह हो गया। पर सच्चाई कभी बदल नही सकती। वहीँ एक बाजीराव ने मुगल बादशाह फरुखसय्यर को हराकर मुगल साम्राज्य का अंत कर दिया।

I am sure your inner conscience has died otherwise a true Hindu would respect the Sikh history as he knows what the Sikh Gurus and numerous Sikhs have done for the Hindu community. Almighty is watching all our acts. What you will say on the day of judgement about your deeds.
Protecting human rights and presenting one’s view point is the core of democracy. That’s what sikhs in Canada are enjoying and participating in.Person like you who is living on moon or some fantasy land will not understand.If you are living in India you will not understand the meaning of human rights for next 1000 years.
