454th birth anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev Ji celebrated at Tarn Taran

TARN TARAN, Punjab—454th birth anniversary of fifth Sikh master Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji was celebrated with full fervour and as per Sikh traditions at Sri Darbar Sahib of Tarn Taran by the Sikh masses on April 18. Special programs are held every year to mark the parkash purab at Tarn Taran as it was founded by Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji.  

Following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Ragi Bhai Gurcharan Singh Happy, Bhai Nihal Singh Kathavachak, Hazoori Ragi Bhai Gurmukh Singh, Bhai Satnam Singh and others addressed the religious discourse to Sikh devotees which was also broadcasted live from Fateh TV Channel.

The program started at 6:30 pm in the evening and concluded at around 2 am in the wee hours. Renowned Ragi Jathas like Bhai Gagandeep Singh Ganga Nagar, Bhai Guriqbal Singh, Bhai Davinder Singh Sodhi, Bhai Tejinder Singh Khanne Wale etc. delighted the Sikh devotees with melodious Kirtan.   

The birth day of fifth Sikh master witnessed a large crowd of devotees paying obeisance at the Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib, Tarn Taran. The devotees had a dip at the largest ‘sarovar’ of Gurdwara Sahib and listened the divine Gurbani Kirtan.

Deputy Commissioner S. Davinderpal Singh Kharbanda, SGPC member S. Alwinderpal Singh Pakhoke etc. were honoured with ‘Siropao’ by organizers of program.
