OREGON, USA—A Gurdwara Sahib in the town of Gresham in the USA was compromised after a drunk man attempted to rape a young woman on the premises. Police confirm the man was arrested as Timothy Walter Schmidt, who is now facing charges for assault, menacing, coercion, attempted rape and sex abuse.
The man initially asked for permission to enter the grounds of the Gurdwara Sahib to use the restroom. Even though he was intoxicated, he was allowed to enter but when he exited the restroom, he attacked the 26 year old woman.
Members of the sangat tackled and held down the man until law enforcement officers arrived.
