Captain Bans Use of Flashing Beacons on VIP Vehicles

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Criticizing the prevalent VIP culture in Punjab, the newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, has banned the use of red beacon lights atop vehicles in Punjab. Neither any minister nor any bureaucrat would be able to affix any type of beacon (red, blue or yellow) on their cars.

“My cabinet has decided to rid the state of this VIP culture. All beacon lights are to be removed from vehicles of all ministers, MLAs and bureaucrats”, wrote Captain Amarinder Singh from his twitter account.

It has also been revealed that Captain Amarinder Singh has also announced to reserve 33% seats for females in recruitment for vacant posts. The motion has been issued after the very first meeting of the newly formed cabinet of the Punjab government.

Interacting with media, Finance minister Manpreet Badal announced that now no legislator or minister would be allowed to lay the foundation stone or inaugurate any project. “Even if the cost of project is more than 100 crore rupees, the Chief Minister would inaugurate the project but his name would not be mentioned on the foundation stone”, he added. He further added that due credit for all projects would be given to tax payers.
