Captain Amarinder To Take Oath as Punjab CM Tomorrow; What We Know About His Cabinet

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Head of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Captain Amarinder Singh, who witnessed an emphatic win of Congress in the Punjab assembly polls bagging 77 seats, is all set to take oath as Chief Minister of Punjab tomorrow.  The oath taking ceremony will take place in Chandigarh.

Who will get the role of deputy Chief Minister is still a surprise, however what we know is that Navjot Sidhu is set to included in the cabinet no matter.  Along with him, Manpreet Badal, Razia Sultana, Charanjit Channi and Brahm Mohindra will be included as cabinet ministers.

Navjot Sidhu joined Congress after resigning from the BJP.  While his initial choice of the political party was the Aam Aadmi Party, he ended up joining Congress due to sour relations with AAP leaders.  Manpreet Badal is former CM Parkash Badal’s nephew.  He will likely take the role of Punjab finance minister.

Razia Sultana won the elections from Malerkotla constituency. She is the only Member of the Legislative Assembly from this constituency, and the only Muslim member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly.  Charanjit Singh Channi won elections from Chamkaur Sahib.  Brahm Mohindra won from Patiala rural.  Along with him, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Rana Gurjit Singh are to be included in the cabinet.
