NEW DELHI—The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on February 20 submitted s status report about the Investigation being done by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in cases related to Sikh genocide committed by Hindu mobs in 1984 in Delhi. Notably, the report was filed before a bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra in pursuance to the January 16 direction of the apex court which had asked the Centre to file a comprehensive report on the status of the probe conducted by the SIT on a plea seeking a court-supervised investigation. The bench, also comprising Justices A.M Khanwilkar and M.M Shantanagoudar, has fixed the matter for hearing on March 6.

The Supreme Court had directed the Union minister to submit status report following up a petition moved by DSGMC member S. Gurlad Singh Kahlon seeking speedy justice for the 1984 Sikh genocide victims. Kahlon had contended before the Court in his petition that the tenure of SIT was going to expire on February 17 so the Court must seek report about development in Investigation from the Ministry of Home Affairs. He had also sought a direction to the Home Ministry to complete the task within six months and give reports on the progress of the probe in all criminal cases relating to the massacre from time to time till the filing of charge sheets.

It may be recalled here that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe 1984 Sikh genocide cases was constituted by the Narendra Modi led Union government of India in February, 2017. Initially, the tenure of SIT was fixed for six months but later its tenure was extended for two years in two steps. Now after completion of two years, the tenure of SIT has been again extended for six months. The SIT is headed by Pramod Asthana, an IPS officer of 1986 batch, and has Rakesh Kapoor, a retired district and session judge, and Kumar Gyanesh, additional deputy commissioner in Delhi Police, as its members.

  1. Don’t worry! Those who make jokes on killing of others, when their love one’s die, then they realize. When innocents are killed, God does His work. Indira, Rajiv, congress gone, BJP, RSS should stop their steps of cruality, injustice against humanity otherwise, God knows where these steps will take them.

  2. We need to have a judicial wing which will log on 31 Oct each year in all the courts of the world including ICJ and parliments of a pending
    SIKH -GENOCIDE-84 case.

  3. The last time Sikhs received any justice for these barbaric attacks lead by Indian government congress party was when their ring leader and the mastermind behind the entire attack, Rajiv Gandhi was blown up Into little pieces and literally all that was left of him was his ass and that’s what he was, a stupid evil asshole who hates Sikhs and wanted to burn every Sikh in India after his evil mother was assassinated also I need to add that Rajiv Gandhi Hated Sikhs more then his mother hated Sikhs, Rajiv wanted and encouraged her to attack Sikh leader saint jarnail Singh and he told them to send tanks and army and he was an evil disgusting creature who wanted to kill Sikhs well at the end thanks to some young Tamil girl who unfortunately lost her own life during the attack but she took out a very very very evil man and I hope Sikh community remembers her… Rajiv Gandhi told the barbaric people of India to put tires around necks of Sikhs and to burn them alive like putting a fire garland around their necks well well well, isn’t it ironic that Rajiv Gandhi actually got a garland around his neck which ended up being a bomb? Well Gandhi family what goes around always comes back around to haunt you so please learn this lesson and don’t ever go on another Sikh killing spree

  4. Justice delayed can still be achieved by our persistence . tenacity, and in the spirit of
    Never Never Never give up.
How to do it from the classical method of justice is to let it be acknowledged by the parliaments and courts of the world.

    • 1984 genocides shows that Law are man made and will depend on the mood of the people who made it whether they want to follow it or not.

  5. Each year on 31 Oct we need to log in all courts of the world to remind them of a PENDING INJUSTICE 0f 1984 genocide of SIKHS.
This Justice could be given even after the life span of the culprits .
The justice could be deemed given once the highest court in the country accepts that people can and will escape the long arm of Law in spite the best effort by LAW .
