Jathedar Nandgarh appeals Sikh masses to oust Badal affiliated candidates from DSGMC

BATHINDA, Punjab—Former Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh has appealed the Delhi based Sikh masses to oust Badal affiliated candidates in DSGMC.  “All Sikhs should unite to defeat Badals in the elections as they have openly violated the Sikh tenets by attending worship meeting of Shivling,” Giani Nandgarh told Sikh24 on February 15.

Launching attack on DSGMC (Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee) residing General Secretary Manjinder Sirsa, Giani Nandgarh said that Sirsa didn’t utter even a single word against the occurrence of sacrilege incidents across Punjab while he was appointed as an OSD (Officer on Special Duty) of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal at that time.

Jathedar Nandgarh appealed the Delhi Sikh voters to vote for a candidate committed to Sikh faith.

Elections for DSGMC are scheduled to take place on February 26.  With 4 parties contesting the elections, there are over 400 candidates who have filed for candidacy papers.

A picture of Sirsa had surfaced online two weeks ago on social media.  While the picture dates October 2016, it came to the fore again as Manjinder Sirsa is contesting the elections for management of Delhi Gurdwaras.  Sikhs have questioned how they can give control of their Gurdwaras to Sirsa who follows other faiths.

  1. Any Sikh who knows the meanings of Mool Manter, he knows the explanation given by M Singh is correct. We believe in one God you can call Him with any name. Guru Sahib spent more than 200 years to show the right path if some sikhs are confused, what we can tell others. If someone is true Sikh he shouldn’t create controversies, just ask Guru, He will guide you.

  2. Please before quoting Guru Gobind Singh ji please let me know if there is any original manuscript written by Guru Gobind Singh ji exists anywhere where he is praying to any deities.I am looking for original manuscript not hearsay. Thanks

  3. “Maha-Dev Ko Kehat Sada Shiv. Nirunkaar Ka Cheenat Nehi Bhiv.”
“One who calls Maha-Dev (the Hindu deity) Shiv (i.e. God)- that person does not understand or recognise the Formless God.”
(Guru Gobind Singh Ji – Chaupayee Sahib)

  4. By whole heart and soul i want Badals to be defeated to the point that they never rise in future. However
As Giani Balwant Singh Sikh should unite just because someone has hurt the faith by praying Shivling. Why can’t such people ask for unity against Corruption and drugs which is the most burning issues of Punjab. No Guru or Granth Sahib will be offended if Sikh goes to temple however they are and will be offended with the present situation of Punjabi Youth. Yes we need to rise not for religion but for Drugs and Corruption.

  5. Like many mythical words used in Gurbani like Damodar, Beethula, Ram, Krishna, Jagannath which are attributed to Hindu gods by Hindu people and sanctified in Guru Granth Sahib, Shiva is another word used by Hindus but interpretations of Shiva are defined in limits of Gurmat by Guru Gobind Singh in Dasam Granth.

Unlike Shaiv Hindus, Guru Gobind Singh did not believe Mahadev or his wife as Shiv-Shakti. In Chopai Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh said cleared it by saying (Chopai, Dasam Granth), which signifies that Guru Gobind Singh does not believe Mahadev as Sada Shiv then how could he call his wife Shiva? Now from here the meanings of Shiva does not goes with meanings of Shaiv Hindus. There are many other clues in Dasam Granth which demotes the theory of calling Mahadev’s wife as Shiva.

    In Gurmat, Shiva is power or Hukam of Akaal Purakh, to which Gurbani States ਸਿਵ ਸਕਤਿ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਵਰਤਾਏ ॥(920, M3).
Here the word “Shiva” may be taken to mean Lord Shiva by Hindus and Anti Dasam Sikhs but this is incorrect. In Sikh tradition uses the terms Shiva, Hari, Rama etc. in a nirguna sense to mean the one Lord Almighty.

  6. How bizzare interpretation
You always ask from a Noun that in this case is God Shiva.
How can you ask from Shudh.
Where is the dictationary equivalence of Shudh and Shiva.

  7. In Deh Shiva
    It’s not Lord Shiva
Shiva in that shabad is referred as Shudh,
    Shudh var meinu deo….

Shabad da bhaav arth samjho veerjio
