AMRITSAR SAHIB—Simranjit Singh Mann led Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has announced to mark 70th birth anniversary of great Sikh of 20th century Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale on February 12 at Fatehgarh Sahib.
Speaking with Sikh24, Bhai Jarnail Singh Sakhira, General Secretary of party from Amritsar, said that Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa sacrificed his life while fighting for the Sikh dignity. “Now it’s our turn to play our role to make sure current Sikhs remember his sacrifices and his courage.”
He appealed the worldwide Sikh masses to pay homage to the great Sikh of 20th century with their benign presence at the celebrations of his 70th birth anniversary.
Birth anniversary of Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib has been observed by the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) for past several years. The gathering is great show of strength for the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) as it attracts scores of Sikhs from across Punjab.
Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale attained martyrdom while fighting against the Indian army troops during the invasion of Sri Darbar Sahib in June 1984.
