NEW DELHI—On Twitter, Arvind Kejriwal called Indian Prime Minister a dictator. “People of Punjab and Goa will press broom’s button to give response of this to Narendra Modi,” he tweeted. Kejriwal made a number of tweets on this issue, telling his supporters that this is not a way to de-register a party, rather a measure by BJP to decrease AAP’s influence a day ahead of polls in two states.

The Income Tax Department of India on February 2 had asked the Election Commission to cancel Aam Aadmi Party’s recognition as a political party. The discrepancies found in the income details of AAP filed with Election Commission, published on its official website and bank statement were said to be the reason behind tax department’s complaint.
Interestingly, the move came just two days before the assembly elections in Punjab & Goa where the overwhelming response to AAP has put the veteran political parties into worry. It is being speculated that the complaint lodged by Income Tax Department is politically motivated move.
It is learnt that the Income Tax Department found 177 names of donors missing in the revised list submitted by AAP after the Department started probe into discrepancies in manifestation of donation by AAP.
Also, the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced to launch sweeping measures to clean donations to political outfits limiting Rs. 2,000/- per person on February 1.
Meanwhile, the AAP leaders have termed it as a BJP’s bid to stop AAP from making government in Punjab and Goa. The AAP leaders have said that the BJP was trembling with fear due to overwhelming support to AAP by common masses of Punjab & Goa.
Those are old-day tricks when there was less communication available to common people but now people know as much as leaders do! Such indicates only a kind of desperation of the people trying to imperil impending wave of change!
