SANDWELL, Midlands, UK—An audit committee for the Sandwell Borough Council have named Labour Party Counsellor, Babu Singh Bawa of Oldbury, West Midlands, as being under investigation for fraud and misconduct.
An OBE recipient, Babu Singh is alleged to have misappropriated the acquisition of land and property after misusing the position of his office in order to ascertain them.
A breach of a number of codes of conduct of the council’s regulation has meant that the matter is now to be passed to the Regional Organised Crime Unit of the West Midlands Police, for investigation.
A co-accused, Counsellor Mahboob Hussein is also facing allegations in the same investigation.
