FATEHGARH SAHIB, Punjab—Just two weeks before the the 2017 assembly elections in Punjab, it is learnt that the Bhai Mohkam Singh led United Akali Dal party has withdrawn it’s support and membership from the Panthak Front, the coalition party by Simranjit Singh Mann. Instead Mohkam Singh has announced that his party will boycott the elections. The reasons are currently unknown.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) President, Simranjit Singh Mann, has announced he will field candidates in key constituencies, including Lambi and Jalalabad. The statement by Mann was released on Saturday, just 3 weeks before the assembly elections where Punjabis are looking forward to a massive defeat of Badal’s Akali Dal in the elections.

It is important to note that in Lambi, Chief Minister Parkash Badal is being challenged by former Delhi MLA Bhai Jarnail Singh.

Bhai Jarnail Singh is a Panthik Gursikh who has done much work for massacre victims of the 1984 Sikh Genocide.

In Jalalabad, AAP’s Bhagwant Mann is challenging Deputy Punjab Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal. Congress has yet to announce their candidates from these constituencies.

Mann has picked Prof. Baljinder Singh Morjand who is originally from Rajasthan for Lambi against Sr. Badal and Bhai Jarnail Singh.  It’s candidate in Jalalabad against Bhagwant Mann and Jr. Badal is S. Gurmeet Singh, a long term Mann loyalist.

Panthak Front’s candidates are known for breaking the anti-incumbency vote bank of mainstream parties. It is a well-known fact that the Panthak candidates might not have succeeded in winning elections in the last few years but they always play a vital role in winning of some candidates at some seats.

  1. BADAL YOUR TIME IS GONE AND SO IS ANY DYNASTY. YOU HAVE MADE A MOCKERY OUT OF PUNJAB AND ITS CULTURE. YOUR HAVE DONE NOTHING GOOD. NOTHING. BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER THE TRUE KEEPERS OF THE FAITH WHO ARE VERY RICH AND LOOK BEYOND ANY NEW DOLLARS ARE WATCHING. WE THE PEOPLE ARE WATCHING. MAAN SAAB IS GOING TO WIN IN A LANDSLINE.

  2. THE SOLUTION IS SIMPLE. HERE ARE THE FACTS:

EVERYONE HATES BADAL, MAAN IS GOING TO WIN WITH A LANDSLIDE. ALL THE SUPPORT IS AND SHOULD BE GOING TO DEFEAT BADAL. HE IS CORRUPT AND HAS MADE A MOCKERY OF OUR RELIGION AND CULTURE. BADAL YOUR TIME IS GONE AND SO IS ANY DYNASTY. I HOPE YOU ENJOYED RAPING PUNJAB. THE PEOPLE ARE FINALLY GOING TO STAND.

  3. All political parties in India are corrupt to varying degrees and therefore voters need to vote on the basis of the integrity of the individual candidates and how they intend to deliver social justice.

  4. Very disturbing! United Akali dal, Maan dal & other other panthic jathebandies should make their decisions with a soch how you can have a Badal free raj. If again they made mistakes like United dal, panth will never trust & forgive you, I think they should help those candidates who can defeat Badal family & anti panthic candidates. This is last chance to show your ability to guide the panth in right direction, otherwise you will have no space in the heart of panth for you, panth is watching you all.
