Speaking to Sikh24, Producer Jasbir Singh and Director Pardeep Singh anounced that the documentary is based on information taken from the books written by Bhai Randhir Singh and Bhagat Singh i.e. Jail Chithian and Main Nastik Kyon, respectively.

1878 born Randhir Singh was a Sikh leader who started the Gurdwara Sudhaar Movement, and founded the Akhand Kirtani Jatha. He was charged in 1914 under charges of waging war against the British Crown and had to undergo life-imprisonment from 1914 to 1931. He passed away on Vaisakhi, April 13, 1961 and his cremation took place at the lake between Gujjarwal and Narangwal.

It is a wide-known fact that Bhagat Singh had confessed before Bhai Randhir Singh that he regretted cutting his hair but he wouldn’t have been promoted by pro-Hindu freedom fighters if he didn’t trim them.

Bhagat Singh was hanged along with his accomplices, Sukhdev Singh and Raj Guru, for assassinating an innocent English police officer.
