CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal accused the AAP leader Bhagwant Mann yesterday, of instigating members of the public to attack him.
Holding Bhagwant Mann responsible for an attack on his caravan in the Jalalabad assembly constituency, Sukhbir Badal said that the AAP was resorting to violence. He alleged that Bhagwant Mann instigated the public to attack Akali leaders during his rallies and the Election Commission should take notice of it.
Sukhbir Badal said that his party would never stoop so low but warned that Bhagwant Mann shouldn’t take their politeness as a weakness.
Making fun of the manifesto released by the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee for 2017 assembly polls, Sukhbir Badal said that the Congress has trampled over development works done by the SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab during their last 10 years of rule. He added that the Congress skipped electricity, road connectivity, water supply and sewage management issues as it knows that the issues have been resolved by his government.
Claiming 70-80 seats in due assembly polls, Sukhbir Badal admitted that the AAP was putting up a credible fight to Shiromani Akali Dal in 22 seats however he claimed that the AAP’s score in assembly polls would not reach two digits.
