NEW DELHI, India—Chief of the KLF, Harminder Singh Mintu, was produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate Satvir Singh Lamba by the Delhi police on December 12.

Representing the Delhi police, the prosecution said that it no longer required Harminder as they have completed his interrogation. The Magistrate then sent Harminder Singh on a two days judicial remand. The court has deferred next hearing to December 14.

Meanwhile, it is understood that the Punjab police have also moved a plea, asking the Metropolitan Magistrate to handover Mintu to them. The Punjab police have contended that it needs Mintu to help solve the so-called conspiracy behind the Nabha Jail break. Interestingly, Punjab’s Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal had blamed the Pakistani agency ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) for among the conspirators in the release of KLF Chief Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu.

It may be recalled here that KLF Chief Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu had fled from the Nabha Jail along with five other renowned gangsters when their aides succeeded in breaching the extremely secured jail of Nabha. Bhai Mintu was rearrested within 24 hours from New Delhi’s Nizamudin Railway station when he tried to flee to Goa. Later, the Court had sent him on police remand for seven days on November 28 which was later extended till December 12.
