TALWANDI SABO—The Sikh congregation at Sarbat Khalsa 2016 today ex-communicated the Chief Minister of Punjab, Parkash Badal and Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal.
Although the organizers of Sarbat Khalsa 2016 couldn’t succeed in successfully organizing the event and presenting a draft specifying appointment, jurisdiction and retirement terms for Takht Jathedars, the Sikh devotees successfully completed the Sri Akhand Path Sahib at the venue of the Sarbat Khalsa gathering, in the presence of SADA’s General Secretary S. Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala.
The Punjab police have reportedly sealed all roads leading to the gathering venue, while taking state-wide Sikh activists into preventive custody. Despite strong police checks, a number of Sikh activists succeeded in sneaking past the police fences.
Meanwhile, the interim Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib (appointed by Sarbat Khalsa 2015) Bhai Dhian Singh Mand and his supporting leaders were arrested by the Police. After his arrest, Jathedar Mand was transported to an unknown location.
In a video message shared through Facebook’s live feature, Jathedar Mand announced the ex-communication of both Badals from the Sikh community. He called upon the Sikh masses to boycott the Badal clan completely.
Blaming the Badals for shielding the culprits of the desecration incidents, Jathedar Mand said that until now, there have been 87 recorded incidents of desecration across Punjab since 2015, but not one of the culprits have been brought to justice.
Sikhism is a faith and not a Gang where no one can be dismissed .
Ex-communication has been well established and practised for hundreds of years. When the Panth decides that is the final decision. The Badals not recognised as Sikhs. They can go on pretending to be Sikhs and you can go on trying to vainly protest they are but in their heart they know the decision of the Panth is final. It is called democracy.

Punjab has known highest level of ethnic cleansing proportioned drug epidemic under his stewardship including allegations that his people like Majithia are actually drug lords. There have been repeated beadbi incidents of Guru Granth Sahib under his stewardship with ZERO arrests or punishment for culprits whilst his son frolics at Holi (a Hindu festival). The water of Punjab has continued to be looted by outside states under his stewardship and the ground water contains contaminants like Uranium under his stewwardship – no attempt by him to stop the theft or clean up the water. Sikhs have been shot dead on the street by his police for protesting beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib – instead of punishing the police officers he sends his son to offer the victims families jobs, effectively hush money bribes to keep quiet. Under his stewardship he has brought the SGPC into total disrepute and has repudiated the Sikh principles of Miri-Piri, Panj Pyare and even repeatedly acted to prevent Sikhs carrying out their religious and democratic rights to hold Sarbat Khalsa to discuss the attacks on the religion. Badal has been instrumental in granted unconditional pardon to heretic Ram Rahim and even hand police investigation over to CBI immediately when an RSS man is attacked even though the RSS leader has arrnged attack against himself to boost his profile and get free state security! The driver of a Badal owner bus company commits rape and his daughter in law goes on live TV and states she has no idea who owns the bus company! Oh, yes Punjab has really enjoyed peace, harmony under his ‘able’ leadership. The Badals are Hinduvta puppets and have now been excommunicated from the Sikh Panth, let them stand for election proudly wearing tilak instead of turban as your defination of ‘honourable’ is not to be found in normal dictionary.
You are welcome to rule Punjab democratically and offer a better alternative to the existing regime.
Even in your defence of the Badals you recognise their villiany with the use of the word ‘regime’ which is always associated with autocratic rule and police state tactics. A democracy uses the word ‘administration’ when it talks of government. And I notice you did not deny any of the points I raised let alone try a defence for them.
1) Drug lord: – The the law and people will catch up with all the drug lords.
2) Disrespect of Guru Granth Sahib and Sarbatt Khalsa holding are a trap by Empire to disturb a peaceful Punjab.
3) Water and all resources of India are to be equitably distributed among all Indians.

1) How the law gogint o catch up with the drug lords when the law – police and judiciary – is subservient to the polity and the polity is accused (Majithia serves the Badals) of not only countenancing drug peddling but also from profiting from it.
2) You claim the centuries old Sikhs open forum of Sarbat Khalsa is illegitimate because you cannot control its decisions and you pass the buck of beadbi onto amorphous foreign others because you want it to continue.
3) International riparian law and Indian constitution state Punjab’s waters belong to Punjab. If I walk into your house as an Indian and steal your Indian gold does it belong to me or you?
4) You only forgive someone when they explicitly ask for it out of genuine repentence and remorse. You don’t forgive people who still think they have committed no crime. Well, maybe you the Badals and the SGPC do giving free unwanted pardon to heretic Ram Rahim but we are SIkhs and don’t shame our honour and self respect like that.

1) No, when the the polity and police protect drug traffickers and indeed take a share of the profit the drug traffickers are safe. Drug peddling in Punjab has increased year upon year in the 10 years your fiends have been in charge. It is now ethnic cleansing sized proportion which has made 1984 bread basket of India into basket case of India.
2) Sarbat Khalsa has nothing to do with your law makers. It is a religious gathering of Sikhs deciding upon Sikh religious issues. You don’t get to control it like you do with Akali BaDal and SGPC. When the Sikh masses decide the Badals are to be excommunicated you will call that inimical to India when it is the religious and democratic right of Sikhs.
3) India needs to redraft its laws so as to circumvent the very consititution upon which Sikhs joined INdia. If you want to change the laws to make it legal to steal and loot Punjab’s wataers then give Punjabis referendum.
4) Truth and reconciliation commission cannot be like the white wash commissions that looked into 1984 genocide that took years and still came up with the wrong answer. A massive education programme utlilsing the aparatus of the state – the schools and media – must tell the Indian people the truth that a genocide was committed against the Sikhs and that Sikhs have endured injustices. The legitimacy of Sikh kaum’s concerns specified in the Anandpur Sahib Resolution must be recognised.

We seem to be dismissing each other out from Sikhism as if any one cares about the reality of dismissal.
You are trying desperately to make something so serious sound inconsequential but it is a very grave matter to be ex-communicated from the Panth. Your friends the Badals like Zail SIngh before them have been rejected by the Sikh Kaum. This was the prime reason why they tried so hard to stop the Sarbat Khalsa using every immoral and illegal means at their disposal to deny Sikhs their religious and democratic rights to freedom of association, freedom of speech and freedom to practice their religion. You often tel Sikhs to ‘move on’ from 1984 so I give you the same advice for your puppets the Badals and just accept now that they are no longer recognised as being Sikhs by the Panth. They are yours now fully and openly so Sukhbir can do his frolicking and throwing coloured powders at the next Holi (as he did this year whilst beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib was being carried out all about him in Punjab) without any real restraint because he does not need to pretend any longer that he is a Sikh. He and his father can now dispense with the effort of tying their turbans for the public and put on the tilak instead. Of course you will need to find other puppets who can pose as Sikhs to do your bidding but the Badals are a busted flush. You could learn the lesson and start behaving decently with Sikhs instead of trying to control them but I suspect as you always talk about Syria you will follow the authoritarian lead of Putin and just try to bolster his proxy Assad even though he is not wanted by the majority of Syrians.
Do Badals care? They will appoint their private Jathedars to issue a new directive reinstating them.
